Border roads to be spruced up

New Delhi, Oct 30(ANI): Union Home Minister P. Chidambaram on Friday
said that during the month of October, several steps have been taken to improve
the border roads, as well as beef up security network across the country.
The report said that the construction on the Naga-Jadhang road in Uttarakhand was started in this month.Along the India-China border, 196 kilometres of roads were in various stages of construction, while 46.63 kilometres of formation works and4.77 kilometres of surfacing works were also completed during the time.

Further the Home minister informed that under the Border Area Development Programme (BAPD), Annual Action Plans have been received from 15 States and the first installment amounting to Rs. 310.57 crorewas released to 12 States, including Uttarakhand. ANI
